Each year CTHS students from years 9-12 have the opportunity to attend the CTHS Snow Trip. This takes place at Mt Hotham, Victoria in the second school holiday of the year (July). The trip is open to any nice, well-behaved students in years 9-12.
UPDATE: ALL SPACES HAVE BEEN FILLED FOR THE 2019 TRIP.
Students travel by bus overnight to Mt Hotham where they will reside for the week. Accommodation is located “on snow”. Staying on snow equals more time skiing and snowboarding as there is no need to commute to and from the mountain every morning and afternoon.
Accommodation for the trip is at The Arlberg, a hotel style apartment complex approximately 450m walk from the first lift. Students stay in suite accommodation, giving them much more room to store their gear, as well as areas to socialise. The rooms have kitchens, food storage and cooking facilities.
Each day students attend a lesson giving them the opportunity to develop new skills.
The cost of the trip includes:
- 5 nights accommodation at the Arlberg Lodge
- 5 1/2 day lift pass and lessons
- Night skiing/snowboarding (weather permitting)
- Park entry
- Hot breakfast and dinner
- Bus hire
- Skis/snowboards with clothing and helmet
